The New Skin of Cape Town Station

Cape Town Central Station is getting a huge face lift.   I’ve been taking pictures of the old and the new faces of the Station.  Because my cell phone camera is not great, I’ve used some heavy Photoshop manipulation:

And the flea-market outside the station.  Its under a tent, and the early morning sunlight filtering through creates a lovely glow.  Not that I could capture it with my little camera :

    I keep driving past the station and seeing the changes happening (so pleased they didn’t knock it all down). must go in and see for myself soon!

    Yep it looks like its not going to be too bad. They are keeping the lovely wooden ceiling, but the stained glass windows are gone (not such a bad thing, there’s a lot more light coming in now). I wonder what the plan is with the flea market people…
