I have a secret vice… I like making repeating patterns out of images.  This time around I was inspired by my previous post,  illustrations by John Howe.

I have linked each pattern to the image they were generated from.  Click on a pattern to see the original image.

The first two are bits taken from an image from The Lord of The Rings:

The next lot are all from different parts of a scene from The Hobbit:

And these should be easy to guess.  They are bits of Smaug:

They make quite nice desktop backgrounds, as long as you remember to set them to tile 😛 .
